The Minnesota Starvation Experiment [4]

After I read the topic, I don’t agree with the experiment to use human to participate in starvation experiment. I think although they are necessary and helpful to use knowledge helping for understanding starvation, some of them is cruel, immoral or mentally and physically harmful.

It follows a year experiment on a group of young men. The first stage focuses on observing normal eating habits and personality. In the next, the men's calorie were cut by 50%. And the last three months, their diets were allowed to return to normal. It’s certain that impacted on physical and mental. It was bad for their body and their mind. Many people were upset and nervous because of they hungry. They lost their weight and lost energy too.

If it’s possible that we can use other things to use as the selected to participate in the experiment or changing the methods or experiment stage, I think it’s a good way that is to find out what effect they have and isn’t cruel to anyone.

In my opinion, they may don’t have a good choice than using human because they are living in the war period. But now I think we don’t have the experiment like that sure because we have a lot of choices. And I hope the scientist don’t use animal represent us.
